Designed in 1926 by Marcel Breuer the Knoll 50LC Wassily® Chair represents one of the major milestone events in furniture design; reducing the overstuffed sofas and chairs of the time to a simple skeletal frame with stretched cowhide slings forming the seat back and arm rests.
When initially designed, the chair was at the cutting edge of design and manufacturing.  The design only being possible due to the recent invention of seamless welded tubing. The Wassily chair was named after Breuer’s Bauhaus roomate Wassily Kandinsky.
Now available in 15 new colours, the chair has gained a 21st century appeal, creating a beautiful and vibrant piece of furniture.

Knoll received trademark protection for the 50LC Wassily® Chair in 2006 and has successfully protected it in the courts in several countries.
