Designed by Mies van der Rohe for the 1930 Tugendhat Villa in Brno, Czech Republic.  The chair was used in Grete Tugendhat’s bedroom upholstered in cherry red leather.  The chair was later used in the Philip Johnson-designed Four Seasons restaurant in New York upholstered in dark blue silk .
