Louis Poulsen are launching a mini version of the iconic Panthella lamp by Verner Panton, with a diameter of 25cm - scaled down from the standard 40cm. Panthela mini, launched in September 2016, has a painted metal shade in eight bright colours from Panton's own colour project "Lyset og Farven" ("Light and Colour"). The lamp is also available in the classic white, black and opal acrylic. The miniature Panthella features three light intensities and the latest LED technologies.
Created in 1971, Verner Panton's Panthella design is among his more popular ones. The basic light principle aimed to create a lamp in which the base as well as the shade would act as a reflector. The lamps light source is hidden under a hemispheric acrylic shade and the trumpet-like base contributes to a beautiful distribution of light and a well balanced form. The table lamp boasts a shade that is slightly smaller to provide a more consistent design for table top placement.
