Weekend at Mason & Objet with Wewood
We are enjoying helping out the Wewood stand at Maison & Objet in Paris. We are the UK distributor for this Portugese company which makes stunning wooden pieces from solid oak and walnut. There has already been a great reaction to the products, especially the two desks.
One of the stand out pieces is their new product – the Bolsa desk. It is a brand new design. Made from solid French oak, with an integrated leather sling, which can be used to hold files and papers. The back of the sling can be used to hold power and cables.
But there is no getting away from their original desk. BS01 desk was designed by an architect, and it shows. The desk shows off Portugese joinery at its absolute best. It has 7 separate drawers/openings for storing all those important office items, plus a neat cable drawer at the back of the desk, to keep all your power and cables off the desk. The desk has been made with no nails or screws – one can only imagine the joinery skills involved to achieve this. Jaw-dropping. Shown here for the first time in sold American walnut, it is also available in solid french oak.
Other pieces on show include the Tree chair, Touch, Contador chest of drawers, their new oval-shaped Ines dining table and the cleverly designed XI bookshelf. They really are pieces to drool over…
