A design classic is an industrially manufactured object with timeless aesthetic value. By definition it takes time to become a classic. The product design is often ground-breaking when it first appears and it generally becomes a standard of its kind and other designs are inspired by it. For us, the key point is that regardless of when the piece was originally designed, it still looks fantastic and current today. Take the Wassily chair, designed in 1925 as an example.
These pieces combine well with most interiors from traditional through to ultra modern and they have good resale values due to their iconic status. All our Design classics are, of course, Authorised Originals. To find out more about Originals, check out our Real vs Fake section
