Delivery

The following charges apply to UK mainland delivery. If your address is outside of mainland UK, please request a shipping quote.

Delivery charges apply as follows.
  • Small items via Post or courier: £8.95
  • Standard delivery for small furniture items: £25 - £40 depending on weight.
  • Items requiring two or more people: £75
  • Large dining tables with marble tops requiring 3 or more people: £125.
If you spend over £2,000 in any one transaction and your address is in mainland UK, standard delivery is free of charge. The following conditions apply:
  • The item is not reduced
  • Heavy items such as marble dining tables, requiring 3 or more people are excluded
  • Where installation is not required
  • A discount (including trade discounts or a coupon code) has not been applied to your order
If these conditions are not met, standard delivery charges (above) will apply.

Access. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that delivery can be made. Please measure all relevant access points before ordering. In the event of an unsuccessful delivery, (e.g. a doorway is too narrow) the goods cannot be returned to Couch Potato Company or credited without prior agreement. Where returns are agreed, the value of the goods will be credited less a 20% handling charge.

Extra charges will be payable for a delivery with difficult access, e.g. above or below ground floor and where more than two people are required.

Delivery details. We use our own vans and delivery staff where possible, and for deliveries further afield we use an approved courier service. Once your furniture is ready to be delivered, we will contact you to arrange a suitable day (Monday to Friday). If we are using our own vans and staff, we will specify a time window of two hours. Courier deliveries will be between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. You may upgrade the courier service to a morning or afternoon delivery, for an additional charge. Please contact us to arrange this.

Storage. Goods can be stored free of charge for up to one week once they arrive into our warehouse. If the buyer is unable to take delivery after one week has passed, a charge of £50.00 per week storage costs will be added to the final invoice, this will be increased for large and bulky furniture orders. Responsibility for insurance passes to the buyer upon acceptance of the delivery.

Failed delivery. If we attempt to make a delivery on the date / time slot that you have accepted and nobody is present to receive the delivery, there will be a redelivery charge, even if free delivery was offered for the first delivery.

Difficult deliveries. We sell some large and heavy products that on health and safety grounds require more than two people to deliver. We require notification at the time of ordering if your access is difficult or if you require delivery above the ground floor. The standard two-men delivery service covers delivery to a ground floor room only. If you require delivery above ground floor up to four men are usually required and the total delivery & installation charge will be a minimum of £195. The use of a lift may be helpful but dimensions of the lift will be required and a site survey may be necessary at a small additional cost. Please call or email for more details.

Overseas delivery. We are also able to ship furniture overseas. If you live outside the UK, please call or email to request a quotation for delivery. Overseas orders may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches its destination country. We have no control over additional customs charges and as such, these charges are to be paid by the purchaser.
