Anniversary Edition Wishbone chair
In celebration of 100 years of Hans J. Wegner, Carl Hansen & Son is launching a limited edition of the Wishbone chair made from 100-year-old beech trees planted in Wegner's birth year in the forest on the Danish island of Funen. The woods are planted with great respect for nature and have witnessed the same events as Wegner himself, as Knud Erik Hansen, the chief executive of Carl Hansen & Son, points out. The timber used is sustainable and of the highest quality.

The special edition Wishbone chairs are available with optional Paul Smith designed cushion. Come and see them in our Twickenham showroom - a few of these iconic chairs are due to arrive here in early November. Couch Potato Company is among the exclusive retailers offering this limited collection.

The Wishbone chair is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. More than 100 production steps are carried out by hand, and the seat is hand woven from 120 metres of paper cord that can last up to 50 years. Hans J. Wegner designed CH24 for Carl Hansen & Son in 1949, and the chair has been produced without interruption since 1950.
