Charles and Ray Eames are among the most prominent designers and architects of the 20th century. An exciting new exhibition at the Barbican explores their careers and extraordinary work at the Eames House in Los Angeles, California, where they spent almost four decades living and working together. They used the house (also known as Case Study House #8) as their office, and it was namely there that many of the iconic 20th century furniture pieces were conceived, including the Eames Plastic chair, Eames Lounge chair, and Eames Aluminium chair among others. This extensive exhibition will guide you through the world of Charles and Ray Eames through objects and projects produced during their lifetime including film, multi-channel slideshows, photography, furniture, products, sculpture, drawings, graphic design, painting, models, props, and exhibition and installation artefacts.
The World of Charles and Ray Eames will take place at the Barbican's Art Gallery between 21 October 2015 and 14 February 2016.
Hope to see you there!
