Salone del Mobile 2018
It's the most exciting time of the year again, as the furniture manufacturers are showing their newest products at Salone del Mobile in Milan. Vitra Vitra are returning to the roots this year with a re-launch of the Eames Plastic Chairs in fibreglass version. Fibreglass was the material originally used for these chairs back in the 50s, before the manufacturer switched to polypropylene in the 1990s. The new fibreglass version will be available in a different colour palette than the polypropylene one, featuring softer pastel colours. Jasper Morrison's Plate table is now available in more sizes and finishes. A few different sizes can be combined...
Salone del Mobile 2015
The Milan Design Fair, or Salone del Mobile, is arguably the biggest and most important event in the furniture industry. The 54th edition of the show this year was as exciting as ever, with over 2000 exhibitors showcasing the best in furniture design to more than 310,840 visitors from all over the world. Our dedicated team was thrilled to see the new products of our favourite brands exhibited at the show and to visit their stylish showrooms. Below is a small selection of some of the hot new designs that we captured during our three days in Milan.
Series 7 Chair, 60 Years Anniversary Edition
The Series 7 chair is turning 60 this year, so Fritz Hansen are launching a special Anniversary Edition including two jubilee models in special colours, inspired by the original colour palette by Arne Jacobsen: A "masculine" edition with a dark blue lacquer shell and powder-coated burnished legs, and a "feminine" edition with a shell in pale pink lacquer with 24-ct gold-plated legs.
