Ant chair, four legs 3101

  • The Ant Chair was produced in 1952 by Arne Jacobsen, one of Denmark's influential designers of the twentieth century. The Ant Chair has a unique and minimalistic form, resulting in its striking simplicity. Originally it was created for the canteen of Danish healthcare company Novo Nordisk.

The chrome base is available for all shell colours. If you are interested in other base colours we offer Black, Nine Grey, White, Dark Brown Powder Coated, Silver Grey and Warm Graphite. Most of the base options and shell colour options can be combined together but please get in touch for further information or custom product mockup.

The product is designed for practicality as it is stackable and formed from a chrome base. It is also available in a three-legged version. The shape, although minimalistic, is exceedingly comfortable and has become an increasingly iconic item in the Arne Jacobsen collection for Fritz Hansen. Fritz Hansen was originally sceptical about producing the Ant Chair, but Jacobsen held faith in his design offering to personal buy all the chairs that weren't sold.

Please be aware that all Ant chairs come in a choice of finishes which range in price. Please use the options below to select your seat shell finish, colour, seat height, and frame finish where applicable. We regret that incorrect orders cannot be returned.
