The Aluminium Group from 1958 is one of the greatest furniture designs of the twentieth century and exemplifies the design philosophy of Charles and Ray Eames. The extreme attention to detail of the sculpted metal frame combined with the choice of material ensures high quality construction and comfort. The seat ribbing is a crucial part of the Aluminium Chair design as the material becomes a structural component of the chair rather than a cover, meaning the skeleton frame becomes visible as both a structural and aesthetic element. The material is available in a choice of leather, fabric or net weave, to suit your home.
The smart combination of materials give the Aluminium Chair its elegant structure, bringing lightness and definition to a room whether in the classic setting of the office or at home. Vitra is now launching the models EA 101, 103 and 104 that belonged to the original product family and were first marketed as the Aluminium Dining Chairs. This new range expands the selection of chairs in the Aluminium Group with models that are smaller and lighter. EA 101 has no armrests, while EA 104 is the swivel version of the chair with armrests.
