The Ocean Chair is a very popular chair from Mater, which is a reimagined design from 1955 with an updated touch. The designer Nanna Ditzel has focused on an innovative solution to prevent pollution of the oceans. This is due to the the use of the ocean plastic waste in the production of the chairs. This series of both the Ocean Chair and the Ocean Table is characterised by the light structure and the simple metal frame.
The chairs are suitable for outdoor use. It comes in two difference finishes: a black and a concrete green version. To be more exact, the slats are made from recycled fishnets and recycled hard plastic. For one Ocean Chair Mater uses 960 grams of ocean plastic waste.
