Jaime Hayon
(1974)

Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. His design career was kickstarted during his apprenticeship at Fabrica, the communications research centre run by Benetton near the Italian city of Treviso. The centre attracts talented young designers, artists, journalists and makers from around the world and provides them with professional training and resources. Hayon arrived there in 1997, when he was only 24, to work under the world-renowned photographer Oliviero Toscani, and it didn’t take long before he was put in charge of the design department.
His style blurs the lines between art, decoration and design, mixing renaissance elements with contemporary design in different pieces, including furniture, products, interiors, sculptures and art installations. He was included among the 100 most relevant creators of our time by Time magazine, and among the most influential creators of the last decade by Wallpaper magazine.
Hayon currently lives and works in London, but he also has offices in Barcelona and Treviso. The brands he works with include &Tradition, Fritz Hansen, Magis, Baccarat, Camper Shoes, Moooi, and Swarovski, among others.
